Guardian IV - Arts and Nature Advocate Fuelled by a lifelong passion and respect for all living beings, Greta McGillivray has earned the a reputation as a results-oriented advocate, guardian of both the arts and the preservation of Earth's ecosystem. In collaboration with the other visionary leaders within the Collingwood community, she founded the Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting, the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts, and was also a driving force behind the creation of Theatre Collingwood. She spear-headed the installation of miniature houses for the threatened indigenous bluebird throughout the Collingwood region. With the Senior League Endowment Society of Collingwood, Greta stands at the forefront of a movement determined to educate residents on issues of environmental protection and wildlife conservation, in one of Ontario's protected biospheres along the Niagara Escarpment. She is equally inspired to walk the talk in daily rituals. Seldom, for instance, does she take a stroll without carrying a bag to collect debris that might cross her path. To capture the indomitable spirit and conviction of Greta's purpose-in-action, she is portrayed as a strong and earthy messenger of our times.
