MIRTHFUL MASTER - Valdimar Korneyev As with many of the Russian ballet master Arkangels, THE MIRTHFUL MASTER was uniquely suited to a life of teaching. As a principal with the Kirov, he epitomized the grace and discipline so revered in the Russian ballet world. Throughout his career, he has successfully devoted his energies to building an enviable rapport with the lively 7 to 9 year old male students at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, school of the Kirov, in St. Petersburg. He rehearses his progeny with deliberate gentleness and good-humoured wisdom. Of the many striking qualities the Master brings to his teaching, he is most respected for his openness -- an attribute indicative of a truly intelligent man.
