PLAYFUL PAINTER - Denis Juneau Denis Juneau began a life artfully pursued at the Montreal School of Fine Arts, in 1943. Emerging from an inner world unfettered by the impact of sound, Denis harvests what comes as naïve and unguarded. His work is playful and innocent, ruled by the joyous youth that runs free in his imagination. Among the most revered of Quebec's senior painters, his own lyrical style is internationally recognized as distinctly Juneau. A beautiful
and gentle man, Denis possesses an impish quality that is at once both
quizzical and humorous. His Arkangel portrait reflects his determination
to meet the world on his own unique terms -- hands busy and eyes forward,
as if blessing the gift of his own creations. "Everything
has its wonders, even darkness and silence, -- Helen Keller
