PIED PIPER PLAYING - Jacquot Duchesneau

Raised in Montreal by an English mother and a French Canadian father, Jacquot graciously embraces all of Canada's heritage. He honours that dual heritage every day, leading small children to 'the gift of French' in song, words and movement.

From catchy children's compositions, to recordings, to bilingual performances with school children across Canada, Jacquot Duchesneau's life's work is coloured with a spark of spontaneous innocence that leaves children singing and dancing. His unique melodies in 'la belle langue' are enthusiastically echoed by all of the children who hear his performances, CDs and videos.

Portrayed as the musical Arkangel, Jacquot most closely resembles the classic angel or cherubic young man. Pied Piper Playing is the singing spirit of childhood. He strums the melodies we dance to in our heart, inspiring us to become simple and responsive - to find our song and to let our song sing us.

Piping down the valleys wild
Piping songs of pleasant glee,
On a cloud I saw a child
And he laughing, said to me:
'Pipe a song about a lamb'
So I piped with merry cheer.
'Piper, pipe that song again'
So I piped, he wept to hear.
